The short version

Keen Grid reads your photo library on your iPhone to suggest photo dumps. Your photos stay on your iPhone. There is no account, no sign-up, no tracking, no advertising, and no analytics SDK.

One feature is an exception and it is opt-in: the AI Studio plan's expert pass sends reduced previews of the finalists you chose to a server we operate, which forwards them to Anthropic's model API. Those previews are processed to return editing numbers and are not stored by us. Details below.

Keen Grid is published by Ubique Technologies OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia under registry code 17102934, with its registered office at Ahtri tn 12, Kesklinna linnaosa, Tallinn, Harju maakond, 15551, Estonia. It is the data controller for the limited processing described here.

What the app accesses

Your photo library. With your permission (iOS asks; you can grant full or limited access), the app reads photos to measure them: sharpness, exposure, colour, a visual fingerprint, and whether faces are present. These measurements are stored on your device so later digs are faster. Original photos are never modified. Exported dumps are new copies saved to your library in an album.

Location metadata inside photos. If you use the place filter, the app reads the GPS coordinates already embedded in your photos to include or exclude them. The app does not request your device location and does not track where you are. If you search for a place by name, that text (and only that text) is sent to Apple's geocoding service to turn it into coordinates.

Purchases. Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never see your name, email, or payment details. The app asks Apple whether an active subscription exists.

What leaves your device

Nothing, unless you use the AI Studio expert pass.

When you tap the AI button (or the curator's read in the Style tab), the app sends: reduced JPEG previews (long side 768 pixels) of the specific photos you asked it to judge, an anonymous random identifier created on your device for quota purposes, and the plan mode. It does not send your name, your Apple Account, your device identifiers, your location, or your full-resolution photos.

Those previews travel over TLS to our proxy (Cloudflare Workers) and from there to Anthropic's API. We do not store previews, and we do not log image contents. Anthropic processes them to produce the response and, per their commercial terms, does not use API inputs to train models. The anonymous identifier exists so the monthly allowance can be enforced. It is not linked to you and cannot be used to identify you. It is stored in your device Keychain and is removed if you delete the app and its Keychain entry.

What we store on our servers

Only a counter per anonymous identifier: how many photos it has sent this month and this hour. No images, no photo metadata, no personal data.

Sensitive content filtering

If "Skip explicit photos" is on, photos are analysed on your iPhone using Apple's on-device frameworks. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is flagged to anyone, and no result is stored beyond the current dig.

Children

Keen Grid is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from them.

Your choices and rights

  • Revoke photo access at any time in iOS Settings.
  • Turn the AI pass off in the app's Settings; digs then run fully

    • on-device.

  • "Forget my history" in Settings erases everything the app remembers on

    • your device: which photos you posted, your style reference, your grid and your drafts.

  • Deleting the app removes all local data.

    • Because we hold no personal data tied to you, there is nothing to export or erase on our side beyond the anonymous counter, which expires on its own. We are established in the EU, so the GDPR applies to this processing. The legal basis is the performance of our contract with you (delivering the feature you asked for) and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of the paid allowance. You have the rights the GDPR grants you, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority: in Estonia that is the Andmekaitse Inspektsioon (www.aki.ee), or the authority where you live.

    Data transfers: the previews sent by the AI pass are processed by Anthropic PBC in the United States under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and routed through Cloudflare, which is also covered by SCCs.

    Changes

    If this policy changes materially, the app will show the new version before the affected feature is used again.
